Pinot Noir is a bit of an Emperor’s New Clothes thing for me. You try one that people rave about and feel that you should join in the hype, but the feeling that a naked man is about to jump out is always there. Or maybe that’s just me?
Either way, I was slightly underwhelm when I tasted this, but got a bottle suspecting it might be excel with the right food, and for once, I was right. Had this with an awesome roast duck and it complemented it better than I just complemented myself (I cooked the duck). I’d probably rather spend the (fairly large sum of) money on something else, but if you have a bottle, have it with duck (and watch out for naked royals).
