Like an obese teddy bear, this wine is soft and gentle up front, but packing plenty of body. However, it doesn’t stand out from the crowd like a teddy bear with an eating disorder, but you’d rather spend a Friday evening in its company.
Yonder Hill Merlot 2009
Slightly heady but soft, like a gentle intellectual
Yonder Hill Shiraz 2011
Honest no-frills, blue-collar wine. On a price scale, this is great, but on the grape scale, I’ve drunk so much great Shiraz of late that this pales into insignificance like a pop-idol’s latest release after listening to the King Tubby back catalogue.
Yonder Hill Merlot 2011
Amazingly good value and a bit more advanced than the average easy drinking, entry level wine. Highly recommended for drinking on a budget.
