I have a buy on sight policy for any wine that costs R70 or less and has Michael-Angelo stickers. This one was covered in more gold medallions than a 1970’s pimp and had far better taste. Definitely getting more. Up there with the Simonsig Chenin for cost to quality ratio.
Niel Joubert Sauvignon Blanc 2011
Tastes like hens teeth and smells like unicorn sweat. Not really! Very typical sauv blanc flavours. Guava, grapefruit and green pepper (great alliteration too), but really well balanced with none of the acidity you get with a lot of Sauv Blanc. A really unexpected suprise.
