Interesting combo of red wine body and white wine sharpness with tons of strawberries thrown into the mix. Would probably go well with fairly bold food and hopefully with roast chicken as I’m about to have some!
South African Merlots spend far too much time in their bedrooms listening to goth bands and writing poetry, while their more macho viticultural brethren wrestle, shoot small animals and perform various D.I.Y. tasks. Fortunately this one is just as likely to compose a haiku as wrestle a bear. Decent price too.
Really enjoyed this. Refreshing, crisp and sharp. A refreshing change from a lot of Chardonnays that that are like licking a lollipop stick made of oak.
I’m already a big fan of the Alvi’s Drift Viognier, and by a happy coincidence, found a bottle of this, while going through a Pinotage phase. A mere fifty-five Randelas for this bottle of velvety goodness. Buy it before I do.
This is a personal favourite at the moment.
